Trump announced a commission to combat opioid addiction during a White House event. The commission will be headed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, one of Trump’s former rivals for the Republican presidential nomination. Trump said cheap narcotics have devastated American communities and “we have to solve the problem.”
