Maine Legalization Fails to Make the Ballot
Maine Legalization Fails
Maine Legalization Fails to Make the Ballot as an attempt to ask Maine voters in a November 2016 referendum whether they want to legalize recreational marijuana has failed, the secretary of state’s office said Wednesday.
David Boyer, Maine political director for the Marijuana Policy Project, said Wednesday afternoon that his group intends to challenge the ruling. The group has 10 business days to file an appeal, which would be decided in Superior Court. Its had to see this, that Maine Legalization Fails in the face of so many other states making such great strides. Activists will not let it stop here. With a Presidential election in a scant number of months, the tell will be how many other states join the 4 that have already made it. Maine Legalization Fails for now…but not forever.
Plus, legalization taking a bite out of Mexican drug cartels’ profits; DC activists plan White House Smoke Out April 2; Oregon small grow bill makes it to governor’s desk; Montana may have three marijuana initiatives for 2016; Portland pot shop will “Burn one for Bernie”.
