The Transition Into Full Adult-Use Cannabis Legalization In California
Today on Blunt Business our host Sean Eubanks is talking about the ongoing transition into full adult-use cannabis legalization in Calfornia with the principles from Ceres Strategies: Elizabeth Ashford Davis and Ruben Honig. Prior to Joining Ceres Strategies, Elizabeth served as Attorney General Kamala Harris’ Chief of Staff from 2013 to 2015, Governor Jerry Brown’s Chief Deputy Press Secretary from 2011 to 2013, and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Chief Deputy for Cabinet and Communications from 2006-2008. She also worked in the private sector as a senior advisor to Fortune 500 and FTSE (footsy) 100 businesses in the United States and London. Elizabeth also sits on the executive board of the Los Angeles Cannabis Task Force and was recently appointed to the California Highway Patrol’s Impaired Driving Task Force.
Ruben Honig is a small business owner and Executive Director of the Los Angeles Cannabis Task Force, where he advocates to ensure the City of Los Angeles creates a fair and equitable cannabis licensing system. A founder and principal at Ceres Strategies, Ruben specializes in local licensing and governmental affairs throughout the state of California, and was a driving force behind the creation and passage of Measure M, a half-cent sales tax increase in Los Angeles County to pay for major public transit projects, including extending light rail to LAX and expanding subway service to the Westwood section of Los Angeles. Ruben also previously operated a successful national copywriting business and spent three years in sports and brand management.
