Cannabis News and Lifestyle Media Platform Increases Global Growth With Exclusive Content Featuring Floyd Mayweather; And New Shows Produced By Wiz Khalifa & Taylor Gang and Seth Rogen & Point Grey

LOS ANGELES (August 25, 2017) – With an impressive 2017 underway, MERRY JANE has become the fastest-growing and most widely-accepted cannabis news and lifestyle media platform through the creation of strategic partnerships with major studios, networks, record labels and brands. The platform continues to push boundaries, producing innovative content with top entertainers, setting the stage for MERRY JANE to receive the industry’s first-ever Emmy nomination for VH1’s “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party.”

Production partners VH1 Network, MERRY JANE, Sequential Brands Group and 495 Productions made history with the wildly-popular “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party” being nominated for a 2017 Emmy award in the “Host for a Reality/Reality-Competition Program” category, which will be announced in September. The nomination comes as the beloved cooking show returns to VH1 this fall for a star-studded second season, with guests including: P. Diddy, Jamie Foxx, Usher, Patti Labelle, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Don Cheadle, Kate Upton, Terrence Howard, Anthony Anderson and more.

“It’s an honor to receive the cannabis industry’s first Emmy nomination, not only for MERRY JANE but for the industry overall,” said Ted Chung, co-founder of MERRY JANE. “Our goal is to change cultural and social perceptions of cannabis, and this nomination shows that we are doing exactly that.”

This year, MERRY JANE has continued to pave the way in original programming by doubling its production of weekly video content, releasing new episodes of “Seed to Strain” and “Deep Weed,” as well as Snoop Dogg’s popular celebrity interview series, “GGN”.

Throughout the remainder of 2017, MERRY JANE will introduce a variety of new content, both exclusively and by partnering with some of Hollywood’s most influential production companies, leading to a more diverse and creative slate of content.

An exclusive interview between Snoop Dogg and Floyd Mayweather premieres today on In this GGN Special, Mayweather discusses coming out of retirement, business, sex, politics and, of course, cannabis.

A recently greenlit short-form series, in conjunction with Wiz Khalifa and Taylor Gang, will combine elements of “Jackass” and “American Ninja Warrior.” The series will include a strong supply of weed humor that only Wiz and his gang of celebrity friends can put together.

Seth Rogen’s creative agency, Point Grey, will be rolling out new episodes of their “Talking Buds” series later this fall exclusively on MERRY JANE. “Talking Buds” humanizes various strains of cannabis, giving each a personality to creatively explain the effects of the strain when consumed.

The MERRY JANE exclusive, “Queens of the Stoned Age,” is an all-female series, which celebrates women who love weed. From comedians to gamers, housewives to homegirls, “Queens of the Stoned Age” will bring together a diverse group of engaging women to tackle issues that modern females face today – such as relationships, children, careers, food, politics and sex. Executive produced by Snoop Dogg, this series is set to debut the first week of September on MERRY JANE with new episodes premiering bi-weekly.

“MERRY JANE has reached hundreds of millions of people across the globe, bringing cannabis related content to a mainstream audience.” Chung said. “By showcasing the realities of modern culture through insightful and engaging programming, MERRY JANE will continue to lead the fight to remove stigmas around cannabis and push for full legalization.”
